WS Essentials

Far more than a standard cuffing resource, WS Essentials combines a wide range of interconnected policing tools into one configurable system. This includes restraints such as leg restraints and speed cuffs, assisted escorts for improved realism, positioning, vehicle placement, player searches, roadside testing devices,  and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): PAVA spray, spit guards, as well as officer tackles, observations, equipment management, and extensive integrations with other resources.

Built around ox_lib, with optional integration for ox_target, ox_inventory, and Albo1125 FMS.

Restraint System

Apply and manage multiple restraint positions, including:

  • Rear handcuffs

  • Front handcuffs

  • Rear handcuffs with standing leg restraints

  • Rear handcuffs with ground-level leg restraints

  • Switch cuff positions without fully releasing the detainee

  • Visible handcuff and leg-restraint props

  • Custom streamed restraint models

  • Separate animations for each restraint position

  • Synchronised idle and walking animations

  • Officer application and removal animations

When ox_inventory is available, deployed equipment retains its original metadata and inventory slot before being returned to its owner.

Cuffing Resistance

Features include:

  • Separate officer and detainee skill checks (ox lib)

  • Adjusted difficulty when assisting officers are present

Equipment Transfers

Officers can transfer handcuffs or limb restraints to another player using:

  • /passrestraints

  • /passcuffs

  • Etc

Surrender System

Players can voluntarily surrender using:

  • /surrender

  • A rebindable surrender key

The player raises their hands, is forced unarmed, and remains in the surrender state until the action is cancelled.

Escort Handling

The escort system provides more than a basic player attachment.

Available handling modes include:

  • Standard upright escort

  • Dragging

  • Assisted escort

  • Two-officer carry

  • Injured drag

  • Dead-weight handling

  • Vehicle extraction

  • Restrained escorting

  • Optional unrestrained escorting

The system uses synchronised officer and detainee animations, with configurable walking and running speeds.

Assisted Escort Handling

Additional officers can join an active escort to help control the detainee.

Features include:

  • Support for up to six officers by default

  • Separate assisting-officer animations

  • Synchronised officer and detainee states

  • Automatic cleanup when an officer moves too far away

Carry System

Two officers can carry detainees who meet configured eligibility conditions, including:

  • Dead-weight state

  • Prone position

  • Standing leg restraints

  • Ground-level leg restraints

The primary officer can be prevented from moving until enough officers are available to safely handle the detainee.

By default, detainees wearing leg restraints require two officers to be moved.

Dead-Weight Resistance

Restrained detainees can voluntarily become limp or uncooperative using:

  • /golimp

  • A rebindable dead-weight key

Dead-weight detainees use dedicated injured-drag animations and can require additional officers before they can be moved.

Escort Break-Free Attempts

Detainees can attempt to break free while being escorted.

The system includes:

  • Configurable success chance

  • Configurable cooldown

  • Automatic escort cancellation after a successful attempt

  • Safe cleanup of officer and detainee relationships

Detainee Positioning

Restrained detainees can be placed into several controlled positions:

  • Kneeling

  • Prone

  • Sitting on the ground

  • Standing

Available commands include:

  • /kneeldown

  • /prone

  • /sitdown

  • /standup

Vehicle Placement and Extraction

Place controlled detainees into supported vehicles or remove them to continue an escort.
