Built for both operational policing and everyday civilian roleplay, the system delivers responsive dog handling, searches, player tracking, vehicle support, customisation, rewards, and advanced command options.
Optional integration with Albo FMS is included. Support for other frameworks can be developed upon request - please open a support ticket to discuss your requirements.
Dog Profiles
Create and manage multiple dog profiles for different operational and civilian roles, including:
General Purpose Police Dog
Search Dog
Firearms Search Dog
Players can give each dog a unique name and customise its breed, appearance, role, uniform, and equipment.
Dog Handling
The movement system is designed to make dogs feel natural and responsive while remaining straightforward for handlers to control.
Available formations include:
Close heel
Heel left
Heel right
Far follow
Free follow
Lead in front
The dog dynamically responds to the handler’s movement speed, direction, and positioning while walking, jogging, running, or turning.
Additional commands include:
Stay
Sit
Lie down
Recall
Bark
Watch
Pet
Carry
Return
Configurable ambient behaviour allows idle dogs to sit, sniff the ground, look around, or turn towards their handler.
Improved navigation includes obstacle detection, stuck recovery, jump attempts, direct movement across open ground, and navmesh routing around inaccessible areas.
Interactive Leash System
The leash can be manually attached or removed at any time.
Handlers can:
Shorten the leash
Extend the leash
Select the minimum leash length
Select the maximum leash length
Leash length directly affects the dog’s actual follow distance rather than serving as a purely visual feature.
The leash includes visible slack, natural hanging movement, and network synchronisation so nearby players can see it correctly.
3D Cursor Command System
Hold the configurable command key and aim at a player, vehicle, object, or world position to display commands relevant to the selected target.
Available actions include:
Search player
Track player
Follow player
Watch player
Bark at player
Bark from the handler’s position
Attack
Takedown
Move to a marked location
Search an area
Search a vehicle
Guard a location
Guard a vehicle
Enter a configured vehicle position
The command system makes it possible to control the dog directly through the game world without repeatedly navigating through menus.
Weapon-Based Targeting
Configured weapons can be used to select players and issue dog commands through a remappable targeting control.
Weapons can be configured to perform a specific action immediately or open a complete command selector containing actions such as:
Attack
Takedown
Follow
Watch
Bark
Search
Track
Searches and Indications
Player searches can be initiated through the 3D cursor command system or through ox_target.
Search outcomes are controlled by the server and can be customised for each dog role.
The searched player receives a private ox_lib menu containing the available outcomes, including:
Positive indication
Negative indication
Custom configured result
Positive indications can randomly use either a sitting or prone animation, creating more natural visual variation.
Supported search types include:
Player searches
Vehicle searches
Nearby-area searches
Custom registered entity searches
Custom entities such as bags, evidence, containers, or server-specific objects can also be registered as searchable.
The system does not directly read player inventories, keeping search outcomes controlled through roleplay.
Player Tracking
Dogs can track selected players using recorded historical trail nodes.
The tracking system does not expose the target’s live GPS position. Instead, the dog follows a trail created from the player’s previous movement.
Configurable options include:
Player consent requirements
No-trace confirmation for civilian players
Maximum trail age
Trail node density
Search distance
Tracking cooldown
Tracking timeout
Tracking can transition through several states:
Trail found
Trail lost
Trail completed
Tracking cancelled
Tracking timed out
This creates a more grounded tracking experience without allowing the handler to follow a target’s exact live location.
Watch and Guard Modes
Dogs can watch or guard:
Players
Vehicles
Doorways
Marked locations
A configurable warning radius allows the dog to detect nearby players and bark when they enter the guarded area.
Guard mode does not automatically attack. Attack or takedown commands must be issued separately by the handler.
Vehicle Support
Dogs can be loaded into configured positions inside supported vehicles.
Servers can configure multiple dog positions for each vehicle, including unique offsets, rotations, animations, and poses.
Supported vehicle poses can include:
Standing
Sitting
Lying down
Fallback positions can also be configured for vehicles without a dedicated setup.
Custom Dogs and Live Appearance Editing
The system supports several base-game dog models, including:
German Shepherd
Retriever
Rottweiler
Husky
Poodle
Pug
West Highland Terrier
Chop variants
Custom component-based dog models are also supported, including integration with DWX_K9.
The live appearance editor allows players to preview and customise available:
Dog variations
Component options
Texture options
Uniforms
Vests
Patches
Equipment
Changes can be previewed immediately through a dedicated dog camera before being saved.
Rewards, Care, and Tricks
Players can interact with their dog through a range of configurable care and reward activities.
Available options include:
Give a treat
Reward the dog with a toy
Pet the dog
Feed the dog
Play fetch
Perform configured tricks
Reward props support accurate attachment to the dog’s mouth using configurable bones, offsets, rotations, animations, timings, and interaction distances.
Police and civilian dogs can use separate reward, activity, and trick configurations.
Carry System
Dogs can be carried over walls, fences, obstacles, and difficult terrain.
While carrying the dog, players can continue moving, sprinting, and jumping.
Dog collision is safely disabled while being carried and restored when the dog is placed back on the ground.
Direct Dog Control
Optional direct-control mode allows players to control the dog through a dedicated camera without replacing the handler’s player character.
Features include:
Camera-relative movement
Walking
Running
Sprinting
Optional frozen handler
Automatic restoration of the previous leash and follow settings
